Platform

One number, opened.

Follow a single figure — Scope 1 emissions at one facility for one month — through the five steps every figure on the platform takes, then see what a CFO, an auditor and a lender each get at the end.

The figure
1,245 tCO₂e
Scope 1 emissions · Facility A · May 2026
PASSData-Trust 92 / 100Synthetic
Step 1 · Recorded

The figure is bound to its records.

Nothing is typed in. The May figure exists because three records exist, each with its period, unit, entity and the moment it was captured. Two are the figure's own sources; the third is the reference it will be checked against.

A figure without a record is not recorded, and cannot progress past this step.

Step 2 · Reviewed

A person with the right role confirms it.

The preparer cannot review their own figure. A reviewer with the review role opens the records, checks period, unit and completeness, and confirms. The reviewer, the time and any note stay with the figure for good.

Only reviewed figures can feed a published number. Unreviewed figures stay visible to the team and to nobody else.

NoteInvoice 0193 covers a delivery on 31 May; metered on 1 June — within period tolerance.
Step 3 · Cross-checked

Three independent sources, one figure.

The metered figure, the invoiced figure and the site's own baseline are compared against the accepted value within the tolerance set for diesel, 0.5 %. All three agree. Had one drifted outside the tolerance, the figure would be flagged and held for a person — never averaged or corrected silently.

The comparison and its result are kept with the figure, including for figures that later pass.

Step 4 · Scored

Four signals, one confidence indicator.

The Data-Trust Score combines the four signals into a number from 0 to 100 and shows which signal, if any, is missing. This figure scores 92 rather than 100 because one of its two sources is reported rather than measured, and its reference is a modelled baseline rather than a second meter. The status is PASS: evidence complete, sources in agreement.

The console colours 85 and above green. How the score is worked out →

Step 5 · Issued

Into the report, with its trail attached.

The figure appears in the Q2 sustainability report. The report is issued by an issuer role — never by its preparer — for a fixed version, with a Data-Trust Certificate recording what was true of every figure at that moment, an integrity reference and a trusted timestamp. Any later change produces a new version; this one stays on record.

The certificate describes the evidence chain; it is not an assurance opinion.

Who sees what

Same figure, three readers.

CFO

The quarter's Scope 1 total and its trend, with the confidence beside it: 27 figures, 25 passed, 2 under review — and which two. Enough to sign the board paper, or to ask one precise question.

Auditor or assurer

The evidence card for any figure: records, reviewer, cross-check table, versions. The work starts from evidence rather than from a request for it, and the certificate says what was true at issue.

Lender or investor

The figure, its status and the certificate for the report it sits in — a checkable basis for a covenant or a portfolio view, with a public verification address for any issued figure.

Step 1 of 6

Representative, synthetic demonstration on three fictional facilities — the same data as the Evidence Console. Record and invoice references are illustrative. EcoVeraZ is not an ESG rating agency and does not issue assurance opinions.
